Woodlawn Unit School District 209 Board of Education met April 9.

A special meeting of the Woodlawn USD #209 Board of Education was held on April 9, 2024 at Woodlawn High School. The meeting was called to order by Jeff Burkett at 5:30 pm. Roll Call was taken with the above members present. Also Present: Superintendent Eric Helbig, WHS Dean of Students Brian Gamber. Zaria Udeh and Michael Barracato of Robbins-Schwartz attended via Google Meets.

Visitor Communication: None

A motion was made by Kyle Ritchey and seconded by Josh Trout to go into closed session for the purpose of Student Discipline (5 ILCS 120/2 c (9)).

Members voted: Josh Trout, yes; Chase Phelps, yes; Kyle Ritchey, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Kyle Ritchey and seconded by Michele Chesnek to return to open session at 6:17pm.

Members voted: Josh Trout, yes; Chase Phelps, yes; Kyle Ritchey, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Michele Chesnek and seconded by Chase Phelps to expel student #3074554 for two years.

Members voted: Kyle Ritchey, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Chase Phelps, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes; Josh Trout, yes.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Josh Trout and seconded by Kyle Ritchey to adjourn the meeting at 6:19pm.

Members voted: Michele Chesnek, yes; Josh Trout, yes; Kyle Ritchey, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Chase Phelps, yes.

Motion carried.
