Bluford Unit School District 318 Board of Education met Jan. 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board President Jenny Sneed called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Upon roll call the following members were present: Crystal Marlow, Jessica Case, Katelyn Lewis, Steve Tate, and.Angela Schrum Superintendent Adam Cross Principals Ryan Robinson and Amanda Strothschein and Kim McCormick were present. Visitors were Ashley Snow and April Flexter were also present.

Motion: Second: Action: CARRIED.

Lewis-“to approve the consent agenda as presented.” Tate

Roll Call Vote: Yeas: Marlow, Case, Lewis, Tate, Schrum, and Sneed. MOTION

Correspondence to the board, Superintendent’s report, principals and maintenance report were all addressed. FOIA from Illinois Teachers Association and North Egypt News requests were reported.

Motion: Schrum-” approve the District Cardiac Response Plan as presented.”

Motion: Tate-“to set graduation dates May 17, 2025 9:30 a.m. for Bluford Grade School and 11:00 p.m. for Webber High School.”

Motion: Case-“to approve the overnight trip to the National Beta Club convention in Springfield, IL. March 6-7, 2025.”

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas: MOTION CARRIED.

Motion: Schrum-“to go to executive session at 6:07 p.m.”

Second: Marlow

Motion: Lewis-“to come out of the executive session at 6:33 p.m.”

Motion: Marlow-“to accept resignation of Garrett Thompson as JH Assistant Baseball Coach effective immediately.”

Motion: Schum-“to post for a JH Assistant Baseball Coach for the 2024-25 school year.”

Motion: Marlow-“to accept the letter of retirement from Ann Farley as HS SPED Aide effective at the end of the 2024-25 school year.”

Motion: Tate-“to hire Donna Wilkey as District Assistant Athletic Director for the 2024-25 school year.
