Ewing Northern Community Consolidated School District 115 Board of Education met Sept. 17.

Meeting was called to order at 6:34 P.M. by Board President Jonathan Edwards.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Jonathon Edwards, Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Ryan Skibo, and Pokey Squires.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Caleb Suver, Emanuel Lowe
Visitors present: Sara Wilson
President’s Comments: *Open House is scheduled for Thursday September 26, 2024 at 6pm. The K-4th Grade music classes and choir will be performing.
*Softball and Baseball are going well and will begin Regionals on Monday, Sept 23rd. Girls will play their first game at Waltonville and the boys will play their first game at Summersville.
*Ewing Cross Country team is doing well. They are placing in every meet so far!
*Ewing Band will march in Benton Homecoming parade on Friday September 27, 2024. They will also play alongside the Benton #47 and Benton High School at the BCHS Homecoming football game on Friday Night. Students will also perform at the half time.

Resolution 24-25 Budget MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to adopt a resolution for the school budget for the 2024-2025 school year; 2nd by Pokey Squires. 5 ayes (Jake Page, Jonathon Edwards, Karla Gunter, Pokey Squires, and Ryan Skibo).
Annual Audit and AFR Mrs. Ing presented the 2023-2024 Annual Audit and Annual Financial Report. There were no findings this year and the district is at a 3.45 financial rating. MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to approve the 2023-2024 Annual Audit and Annual Financial Report as presented. 2nd by Pokey Squires. 5 ayes (Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Jonathan Edwards, Pokey Squires, and Ryan Skibo).
Extra-curricular Mrs. Hamson presented information and updates regarding Ewing extra-curricular programming. No action taken.
Into executive session MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to go into executive session to discuss assignment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2© (1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057. 2nd by Pokey Squires. 5 ayes (Jake Page, Jonathon Edwards, Karla Gunter, Pokey Squires, and Ryan Skibo.). In at 7:18pm.
Regular session MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to come out of executive session and go into regular session: 2nd by Pokey Squires. 5 ayes (Jake Page, Jonathon Edwards, Emanuel Lowe, Karla Gunter, Jake Page, Ryan Skibo and Caleb Suver). Out at 7:55pm.
Hiring MOTION by Jonathan Edwards to hire Dianna Hatfield as Archery Coach, Josh Hamson as Head Basketball Coach, and Jeff Shurtz and Head Golf Coach. 2nd by Pokey Squires. 5 ayes (Jake Page, Jonathon Edwards, Karla Gunter, Jake Page, and Ryan Skibo).
