Real estate property tax bill notices will be sent out to property owners between late July and early August; Steve Vercellino, Franklin County treasurer, said in a release issued on the County’s Facebook page.

Recipients should expect due dates to fall between early September and late October. The official dates will be determined and released to property owners in mid-July. Government officials are requesting patience from residents due to effects the COVID-19 crisis are having on individuals, businesses, and services.

For tax-payers’ convenience, a number of options are available for payment of taxes. They can be paid in person in the Campbell Building located at 901 Public Square., in Benton, or by using the drop box on the building’s south side; online using the GovTech Services website; or mailed to Steve Vercellino, Franklin County Treasurer, P.O. Box 967, Benton, IL 62813. Local banks, excluding Banterra, will also accept tax payments.
