Mount Vernon School District 80 had the highest enrollment among Jefferson County districts, welcoming 1,499 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51% of them were girls, and 49% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Mount Vernon School District 80 students was white, comprising 47.8% of the student population.

Among the 14 districts in Jefferson County, Mount Vernon Township High School District 201 ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,177 students, while Woodlawn Unit School District 209 welcomed 509 students and ranked third in the 2022-23 school year.
