Report: Summersville spent $8,050 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Summersville School District 79 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jefferson County school district spent $7,736 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,050 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 274 to 275.

Summersville's spending in 2016-17 was 38 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
