Report: Grand Prairie spent $8,261 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Grand Prairie Community Consolidated School District 6 is down 24 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Jefferson County school district spent $10,836 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,261 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 75 to 79.

Grand Prairie's spending in 2016-17 was 36 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
