City of Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
Friday 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. - 10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Fall Fest returns to beautiful downtown Mt. Vernon. The festival kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. with entertainment by Big Rain at 5:15 p.m., food, craft vendors, and a kids zone. Platinum Rock Legends closes out the first day of the festival with a live performance from 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. Then Saturday morning will begin with a 5K for Special Olympics at 8 a.m., The Illinois Proud: Celebrating 200 Years Crossroads Community Hospital Parade at 10 a.m., Musical performances throughout the day by D~N~A Acoustic, U-Foria and Mo Pitney. Also enjoy the Cruise In at Fall Fest from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., Dancing in the streets, and the Tri-State Treasure Hunt. Sunday concludes with the smooth sound of the blues. Sunday performances by Cat Daddy'O, Al Holliday & The East Side Rhythm Band, and Marquise Knox. For more information call (618) 242-3151.
