Woodlawn Unit School District 209 Board met Sept. 6.

The meeting was called to order by Scott Owens at 5:00 pm. Roll Call was taken with the above members present. Also Present: Dave Larkin, Sara Hays
A motion was made by Jeff Burkett and seconded by Scott Smith to go into closed session at 5:04 p.m. for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity (5 ILCS 120/2 © (1) and Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. (5 ILCS 120/2 ©, (2)).
Members voted: Scott Owens, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Steve Danner, yes; Chad Phelps, yes; Chris Bunting, yes; Scott Smith, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Steve Danner and seconded by Chad Phelps to return to open session at 6:11 p.m.
Members voted: Scott Owens, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Steve Danner, yes; Chad Phelps, yes; Chris Bunting, yes; Scott Smith, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Michele Chesnek and seconded by Steve Danner to accept the resignation of Christi Ham, effective August 31, 2018.
Members voted: Scott Owens, yes; Jeff Burkett, yes; Steve Danner, yes; Chad Phelps, yes; Chris Bunting, yes; Scott Smith, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Chad Phelps and seconded by Scott Smith to enter into a two year contract for Unit Bookkeeper with Sara Hays, first year September 6, 2018- June 30, 2019 for $41,250 and second year July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020 for $42,000.
All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Michele Chesnek and seconded by Jeff Burkett to adjourn at 6:23 pm.
