Benton Chamber Of Commerce Inc issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.
A Benton tradition, the Festival of Lights is sure to be a holiday event the entire family will enjoy! The special evening will include the dazzling lighting of the Square, Santa's arrival and a chance to tell him what you want for Christmas, pictures with the jolly old soul, games, photo booths, hot chocolate and more!
The 2018 Festival of Lights is particularly exciting with the addition of a (FREE) "Iceless Skating Rink"! Tickets are NOT for sale, but are available first come-first serve the evening of the event. Your ticket will include skates, music, lights and unforgettable memories to share for years to come.
The entire event kicks off at 4 p.m. around the Capitol Park area. The iceless skating will also start at 4 p.m. behind the Capitol Park pavilion. At 5 p.m., Mayor Fred Kondritz, will give the formal welcoming on the stage of Capitol Park and initiate the countdown for the lighting of the Square. Santa's arrival is set to immediately follow. The "Christmas Carnival" will run the duration of the event
Another Benton Christmastime staple will join us at this year's Festival of Lights as the BCHS Madrigals entertain us with their beloved musical performances.
Please join us, as a community, as we celebrate the precious holidays.
*The Square will NOT be closed for this event.*
The Festival of Lights wouldn't be possible without our sponsors! We're incredibly thankful for our community partners, local businesses, churches and organizations for making this a truly memorable event for all. A full list of participants will be available soon!
