Report: Rome spent $8,234 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Rome Community Consolidated School District 2 is up 3.1 percent from five years ago, according to a North Egypt News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Jefferson County school district spent $7,984 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,234 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 342 to 382.

Rome's spending in 2017-18 was 38.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
