Woodlawn Unit School District 209 Board met Dec. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

A special board meeting was held on December 10, 2018 at the high school. The meeting was called to order by Scott Owens at 6:00 pm. Roll Call was taken with the above members present. Also Present: Dave Larkin, Sandra Kabat, Eric Helbig, Neesa Hayse, Kate Page, Renee Rapp, Kelly Owens

Visitor Communication: None

A motion was made by Scott Smith and seconded by Leslie Knox to go into closed session at 6:11 p.m. for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity (5 ILCS 120/2 © (1) and Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. (5 ILCS 120/2 ©, (2)).

Members voted: Scott Owens, yes; Steve Danner, yes; Scott Smith, yes; Leslie Knox, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes; Motion carried.

A motion was made by Leslie Knox and seconded by Scott Smith to return to open session at 8:59 p.m.

Members voted: Scott Owens, yes; Steve Danner, yes; Scott Smith, yes; Leslie Knox, yes; Michele Chesnek, yes;

Motion carried.

A motion as made by Leslie Knox and seconded by Michele Chesnek to employ Eric Helbig as Superintendent/High School Principal for a two year contract starting July 1, 2019 with terms to be negotiated.

All members present voted yes by a roll call vote.

Motion carried.

A motion was made by Leslie Knox and seconded by Scott Smith to adjourn at 9:03 pm.
