Here is the agenda provided by the council:

Public Forum Rules of Participation

Participants wishing to address the City Council on matters listed on the agenda or on any other matter directly relevant to the business of the City of Mt. Vernon shall do so during the Public Participation portion of the agenda. Each person wishing to speak during the Public Participation portion shall sign a Speaker’s List at the meeting prior to the start of the meeting providing his/her name and the topic to be discussed. Speakers will be recognized by the Mayor in the order the speaker’s name appears on the Speaker’s List. Public participation portion of the meeting shall be limited to five (5) minutes per person. All participants are expected to exercise common courtesy and follow any rules of order established or announced by the Mayor and/or City Council.

8-A Bid results on 4 Thermal Imaging Cameras for the fire department.

9. CITY MANAGER

9-A Two-year mowing contract bid results.

9-B Approval of preliminary and final plat for Tyler’s Subdivision. Petitioning Party: Mike and Terry Tyler

9-C Waive bidding process and accept quotes from Vogler Ford and Morrow Brothers Ford to purchase a total of five (5) Ford Interceptor SUVs for the police department.

10-A First reading of an ordinance declaring surplus municipal property - bike signs and storage building.

10-B First reading of an ordinance amending the number of Package Liquor Licenses from 7 to 8. Applicant: Greg Patel

10-C First reading of an ordinance amending the Hotel-Motel and Hotel Patron Liquor Licenses.

10-D First reading of an ordinance authorizing the ceding of private activity bonding authority to Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority (SIEDA).

11-A Lowe’s Certificate of Recognition

11-B Appointment of 2 at-large representatives to the Minority Affairs & Human Relations Committee: Valerie Dabney and Stephanie Caldwell
