CITY OF MT. VERNON: Mount Vernon Legislative Update and Town Hall Meeting

City of Mt. Vernon issued the following announcement on March 24.

Mt. Vernon….Illinois State Senator Paul Schimpf (R-Waterloo), and State Representatives Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro), Dave Severin (R-Marion) will host a legislative town hall and listening session at

Mount Vernon Township High school from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25.

The legislators will make themselves available to discuss their own legislative agendas, pending abortion legislation, 2nd Amendment Rights, Governor Pritzker’s proposals to raise sales taxes, and Governor Pritzker’s progressive income tax proposal.

The legislators will take questions from audience members. The public and members of the media are invited to attend. A legislative survey will be distributed for attendees to be able to express their opinions on a variety of issues.
