Ewing Township issued the following announcement on April 9.
Cooper Charter Township (Kalamazoo Co.) Supervisor Jeffrey Sorensen was elected president of the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) at the Association's Annual Meeting, conducted during the 66th Annual MTA Educational Conference & Expo, April 1-4 in Grand Rapids.
“I am honored to take the helm of such an important and well-run organization,” Sorensen said. “I truly believe in the ‘neighbors serving neighbors’ model of township government, and I look forward to spending the next year encouraging township officials to take advantage of the resources at our fingertips to better serve our residents and make our townships the best they can be.”
