Field Community Consolidated School District 3 Board met March 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Chris Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:11 PM.

Mullinax made the motion to approve the consent agenda which includes the minutes of the previous meeting and bills totaling $222,599.93. Staley seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Emery, Staley, Mullinax, and Hayes Voting No: None

Motion Carried

Public Input: There was a question concerning insurance coverage for the individuals who will be mowing and bush hogging the school grounds. The winner of the bid for the mowing has coverage and Charles May would be covered under the school’s insurance as an employee. No board action was required.

A report was given concerning bus inspections. Bus 10 passed inspection after the ABS light indicator stopped coming on. No board action was required.

The anticipation of Maintenance Grants from the state of Illinois was discussed. It is assumed these would be matching grants and there is some preliminary documentation that needs to be completed. Mr. Stone is working to complete the necessary forms. No board action was required.

The 5 year obstruction investigation of the sprinkler system is due. Johnson Controls offered to complete the work at the cost of $1,200. Instead L and K Fire Protection out of Marion will do the work for $500 plus $30 for each gauge that must be replaced. No board action was required.

Entrance into the Oil Belt Conference was voted on and approved at the Spring Meeting of the Oil Belt Conference. No board action was required.

Emery made the motion to participate in the Ameri-Corp program for the 2019- 2020 school year. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Emery, Staley, Mullinax, and Hayes

Voting No: None

Motion Carried

The tentative 2019-2020 School Calendar was presented. Teachers will review and the calendar will be brought back for a vote of approval. No board action was required at this time.

Staley made a motion to replace the internal internet cables using E-rate funds to which will pay 70% of the total cost of $6473.00. Mullinax seconded the motion. Voting Yes: Emery, Staley, Mullinax, and Hayes

Voting No: None

Motion Carried

Emery made a motion to enter into closed session at 7:31 PM and was seconded by Mullinax. Motion passed without opposition.

The open meeting continued at 7:59 PM.

Emery made a motion to post the openings for two elementary education teachers and one physical education teacher. Mullinax seconded the motion. Voting Yes: Emery, Staley, Mullinax, and Hayes

Voting No: None

Motion Carried

Staley made the motion to create a collective bargaining team to bargain with the Field Teachers Association. The team will consist of Rod Mullinax, Rob Emery, and Jonathan Schnautz. Hayes seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Emery, Staley, Mullinax, and Hayes

Voting No: None Motion Carried

Emery made the motion to accept the resignation of Rob Robinson as the boy’s head basketball coach. Staley seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Emery, Staley, Mullinax, and Hayes

Voting No: None

Motion Carried

The first reading of the Press Plus #100 took place. No board action was taken.

Staley made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:08 PM. Mullinax seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.
