Former state university employee Yucus paid in $11K to pension fund, could collect $286K in retirement

Former state university employee Robin Yucus, who retired in May 2018, saved $10,999 toward a pension over 4 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Yucus would collect as much as $286,314, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes North Egypt News.

The projection assumes Yucus received $6,018 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Yucus will have already received $12,217 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
