City of Zeigler issued the following announcement on June 14.
Citizens are reminded that burning trash, debris or anything that is not natural foliage is illegal and against City Ordinance. Large items that need to be disposed of can be deposited in the dumpster located at the City Dump. The Zeigler Fire Department responded to two illegal burning complaints on Thursday. A citation for illegal burning can be issued by the Zeigler Police Department or Zeigler Fire Chief at their discretion. Please be considerate of your neighbors and fellow citizens and discard your unwanted items in the proper trash can or dumpster, not the burn can.
