Field Community Consolidated School District #3 Board of Education met Aug. 20.

Chris Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Schnautz made the motion to approve the consent agenda which includes the minutes of the previous meeting and bills totaling $107,556.60. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Superintendent Stone gave a report on summer maintenance work. The bathroom floors in the 4th and 5th grade wing are finished and many positive comments have been received. The drain west of the administrative office will need to be repaired, but a concrete saw will need to be rented to complete the work. The swings were relocated at a cost of $3,230.

Transportation: All buses are up to date on inspections. Bus 12 will need to have the front glass replaced due to a tree limb causing a crack in the windshield.
The financial audit was not available. A report was given by superintendent Stone from notes taken from auditor Susan Lyons.
Superintendent Stone presented the 2019-2020 tentative budget. The 2019-2020 budget was reviewed and discussed.

An update was given by superintendent Stone on the installation of new fire alarms and strobe lights by Security Alarm. No board action was required.
Wheeler made a motion to have Security Alarm install a Fire Alarm Monitoring System that will report to the fire department and a staff member anytime the fire alarm is activated. Schnautz seconded the motion.

Emery made a motion to have L & K Sprinkler Systems do the annual sprinkler inspection. Mullinax seconded the motion.

A second reading of Press Plus took place. Schnautz made a motion to approve Press Plus as board policy. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Wheeler made a motion to accept changes to the school calendar including: April 13th teachers in-service and changing the coding for ISBE for the Parent Teacher Conference Day. Schnautz seconded the motion. The motion passed without opposition.
Schnautz made a motion to allow Field School to host a YMCA after school program. Wheeler seconded the motion. The motion passed without opposition.
Superintendent Stone gave an update on enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year. No board action was required.
Meet the teacher is August 29th from 6:30-7:30. No board action was required.
Superintendent Stone reported that the Pre-K program has received the Gold Circle of Quality award. No board action was required.
Wheeler made a motion to purchase Accounting Financial Software Solutions from Common Goal INC. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Mullinax made a motion to appoint Jonathan Schnautz as the board member to serve as a member of the governing board of the Frank Jeff Special Education District # 801. Emery seconded the motion. Motion passed without opposition.
A review of the Student Information System (SIS) and the difficulty exporting documents from (SIS) to ISBE was discussed. No board action was required.
Mullinax made a motion to enter into closed session at 7:52. Emery seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.
Emery made a motion to enter into open session at 8:08. Mullinax seconded the motion and it passed without opposition.
Emery made a motion to hire Darlene Sherman as 8th grade home room teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. Schnautz seconded the motion.

Wheeler made a motion to allow Brittany Boldt, pre-K director from ROE-13, to move forward with the grant to provide Field School with needed equipment for the pre-K students. Emery seconded the motion.

A report from the IEPA was discussed. The IEPA has instructed the district to remove the Russian olive trees, honey suckle, and to mow around the affluent pipe in and around the lagoon. Superintendent Stone has been instructed to make sure this takes place in a timely manner. No board action was required.
The possibility of getting gutters on the breezeway between the main building and the pre-k was discussed. No board action was required.
Emery made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:21 PM. Mullinax seconded the motion. The motion passed without opposition.
