Waltonville Community Unit School District 1 Board of Education met July 25.

Public Hearing

Call to order at 6:15 P.M. Present: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris and Walker.

Purpose of the public hearing: to receive public comment on proposed waiver application to allow the district to waive tuition fees for children of full-time Waltonville CUSD #1 employees. No public present.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Devor, to adjourn at 6:25. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion carried.

Regular Board meeting called to order at 6:30 P.M.

Present: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris and Walker. Absent: Anderson and Eastham.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Walker, to approve the minutes of the June 20,2019, Regular Board Meeting. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Norris, to approve the closed session minutes from January 28, 2016 to June 20, 2019. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Banach, to leave the minutes closed from the closed session meetings from January 28, 2016 to December 25, 2017. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by John, Seconded by Banach, to destroy the closed session minutes from January 28, 2016 to December 21, 2017. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Norris, to approve the bills and Treasurer's report including additional bills totaling $18,454.10. Yea: Banach, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Recognition of public: introduction of recommended Grade School teacher, Kelly Compton.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Devor, to approve waiver application to allow district to waive tuition fees for children of full-time Waltonville CUSD #1 employees. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Devor, Seconded by Walker, to approve Prairie Farms as milk and juice provider for the 2019-2020 school year. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Norris, Seconded by Banach, to approve Bimbo Bakeries as bread provider for the 2019-2020 school year. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Norris, to approve Pest Control Services as provider for exterminating for $230 per month, for the 2019-2020 school year. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Banach, to approve Melanie Brink to prepare the tentative budged for FY20 school year. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Devor, to approve board meeting dates as the 4th Thursday each month at 6:30 P.M., with the exception of November to be on 21st, 2019 and December to be on 19th, 2019. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Devor, to approve CTS intercom and phone system for Grade School ($4666.25) and High School ($5658.05), Total cost equipment $12114 plus monthly fee of $797.44. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Norris, to approve the bleacher inspection as presented. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Devor, to approve the corrected teacher's salary schedule as presented. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Norris, to approve Grade School Cheerleading uniforms ($2741.55) and High School Cheerleading uniforms ($1919.00). Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Devor, to approve Grade School Cheerleading tumbling camp. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Devor, to approve the purchase of High School Track uniforms, not to exceed $33 per uniform. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Discussion of transportation contract between school district and Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds.

WEA comments regarding Pera Meeting that took place, positive feedback.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Walker, to go into closed session at 8:16 P.M for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees, collective bargaining, and student discipline. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Walker, to come out of closed session at 9:39 P.M. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Banach, Seconded by Devor, to approve all non-certified employees not currently at the $9.25 per hour rate to be increased to $9.25 per hour rate. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Walker, Seconded by Devor, to hire Kelly Compton as the 6th-8th grade school math teacher for the 2019-2020 School year. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Devor, Seconded by Norris, to approve Hannah Witter as Grade School Softball Volunteer coach, for the 2019-2020 school year. Yea: Banach, Devor, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Nay: None. Motion Carried.

Motion by Norris, Seconded by Walker, to approve Brian Shaw, Mike Devor, and Charlie Peterson as Grade School Baseball Volunteer coaches, for the 2019-2020 school year. Yea: Banach, Frick, Norris, and Walker. Abstain: Devor. Nay: None. Motion Carried.
