Jefferson County Board Fiscal Committee met Sept. 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Sean Wilkey, Chairman, Jeff Williams, Jere Shaw & James Malone

Absent: Joey Mcdermott

Others Present: Cliff Lindemann, Randy Edwards, Adam Ortgiesen, Jeff Nowland, Tim Marlow, Steve Draege, Jeff Bullard, Dave Jones, Bob Watt, Terry Knowles & Suzy Tate

No one was present for public input.

County Treasurer Bob Watt was present to discuss the county's finances. Please see attached documentation.

Sheriff Jeff Bullard spoke to the committee regarding a plan that he has to implement the rank of sergeant within the teamsters union within the jail. This will offer more leadership staff and will cut down on overtime and mandating of correctional officers. This will involve an increase of $1.00/hour for 4 sergeants. Motion by Jeff Williams and seconded by James Malone to recommend to the Full Board to allow Sheriff Bullard to implement the rank of sergeant for 4 correctional officers within the jail at a cost of $1.00/hour extra for those promoted. Motion Carried. Vote - 4 aye, 0 nay

Committee Chairman Wilkey updated the committee on the progress of FY 2019-20 budget.

Motion by James Malone and seconded by Jere Shaw to recommend to the Full Board to approve the paid claims as presented. 

Motion Carried, Vote -4 aye, 0 nay

Motion by Jere Shaw and seconded by James Malone to recommend to the Full Board to approve the Payroll Distribution Report as presented. Motion Carried. Vote - 4 aye, 0 nay

Reports were reviewed by the committee.

Motion by Jeff Williams and seconded by James Malone to adjourn. 

Motion Carried. Vote - 4 aye, 0 nay
