Jefferson County Full Board met July 22.

Chairman Cliff Lindemann called the meeting to order at 7 00 pm
County Clerk & Recorder Connie Simmons called the roll Board Members present Joyce Damron, Steve Draege, Randy Edwards, Wayne Hicks, James Malone, Tim Marlow, Joey McDermott (arrived 7 05 pm), Jeff Nowland (arrived 7 25 pm),
Adam Ortgiesen, Jeff Williams and Cliff Lindemann (11)
Board Members absent Jere Shaw, Sean Wilkey (2)

The invocation was given by Marlow, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Lindemann

Ortgiesen commended the lineman for their work during the recent storms
Malone complimented the Courthouse maintenance crew on a well kept lawn
Lindemann announced the Cannabis Seminar in Springfield on August 1st, and urged members to attend
Edwards stated he attended the meeting regarding separating from Cook County, and has requested an advisory question be discussed at next month's meeting

Williams moves seconded by Edwards to re-appoint Lori Given to the Jefferson County Health Department Board

Old Business
Coroner Roger Hayse stated he did not want Coroner markings on the County truck stating instances where social media might put out misinformation if his truck was seen at an accident, and read statute that says the Coroner is in control of duties of his office He is on call 24 hours a day and needs to respond in a timely fashion
Motion by Malone seconded by Nowland to require the Coroner to mark the County truck with Coroner if the Board has the authority to do so

New Business
Motion by Draege seconded by Hicks to approve the State required Head Public Defender salary increase retroactive to July 1, 2019

August Meetings Committees will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2019, and Full Board will meet on Monday, August 26, 2019
Sheriff Bullard stated they received $25,000 on boiler grant today, July 22, 2019
