Field Community Consolidated School District #3 Board of Education met Sept. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Chris Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM.

Mullinax made the motion to approve the consent agenda which includes the minutes of the previous meeting and bills totaling $195,459.66. Staley seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Hayes, Wheeler, Emery, Mullinax, Schnautz, Staley

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Public Input: Rob Marsh gave a report on bids for fire alarm upgrades. No board action was required.

Ms. Arnold presented the Principal’s Report. The dates for fire drills, tornado drills, bus evacuations, and the Fire Safety Program was discussed. The Principal’s

Report also included a review of state testing scores and discipline. No board action was required.

Mr. Stone gave a report on the bleacher inspection. There are a few issues with the bleachers. Nuts and bolts need to be checked and tightened and some floor anchors need to be tightened. No board action was required.

The trees and honeysuckle inside the lagoon will be removed by Dustin Trumbo’s Lawn service. No board action was required.

Bus inspections for September are nearly complete. One bus windshield was replaced. No board action was required.

A motion to approve 2019-2020 Budget was made by Emery. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Hayes, Wheeler, Emery, Mullinax, Schnautz, Staley

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

The 2018-2019 Financial Audit was not available for review and approval.

An update on the purchase of new playground equipment was given. Pre-k teachers will be asked to give their input.

Emery made a motion to accept the Prevailing Wage Certification and the Prevailing Wage Ordinance. Wheeler seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Hayes, Wheeler, Emery, Mullinax, Schnautz, Staley

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Emery made a motion to accept the Food Service Agreement with Farrington Grade School. Schnautz seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Hayes, Wheeler, Emery, Mullinax, Schnautz, Staley

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Schnautz made a motion to have a Back to School Night at Salem Pool for the 2020-2021 school year. Emery seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Hayes, Wheeler, Emery, Mullinax, Schnautz, Staley

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Motion was made by Wheeler to enter into closed session to discuss performance of specific employees. Mullinax seconded the motion. Motion passed without opposition.

The Bullying policy was reviewed and discussed.

Schnautz made a motion to accept the Bullying Policy, without changes, and to add the Bullying Policy to the student handbook. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Motion passed without opposition.

The possibility of internet being paid for by a grant from the state of Illinois was discussed.

Wheeler made a motion to adjourn at 8:24 PM. Staley seconded the motion.

Motion passed without opposition.
