City of Benton City Council met Nov. 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The Benton Zoning and Planning Commission's public hearing was called to order by Chairman Shockley at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 1403 at the Benton Municipal Building at 1403 South Main Street.

Roll Call: Shockley, McGuire, Cockrum, Payne-Hubler

Also Present: David Garavalia, Zoning Administrator; Members of the public

A motion to approve the October 2 Regular Minutes was made by Cockrum and seconded by McGuire.

Ayes: Shockley, McGuire, Cockrum, Payne-Hübler

Nays:

A motion to present spotlight award to Edwards Antiques as the commercial property for the month November was made by Payne-Hubler and seconded by Cockrum

Ayes: Shockley, McGuire, Cockrum, Payne-Hubler.

Nays:

A motion to present spotlight award to Kim Ellen Hall Residence as the residential property for the month of November was made by McGuire and seconded by Payne-Hubler

Ayes: Shockley, McGuire, Cockrum, Payne-Hubler

Nays:

Under old business the committee heard an update on maintenance grants discussed at the previous months meeting.

Under public comments, an inquiry was made about property at 900 N. DuQuoin becoming a home business. A special use hearing will be held on Dec. 4 at 6PM and discussion will be held at the committee's regular business meeting after its conclusion.

No Misc. business was discussed.

Having no further business, a motion to adjourn was made by Payne-Hubler and seconded by Cockrum.
