Ewing Northern Community Consolidated School District 115 Board of Education met Oct. 21.

PRESIDENT COMMENTS:
*The Board would like to thank all the parents and community members for attending Open House. It was a huge success. The Music program was wonderful and showcased all our talent! *Ewing Band did an outstanding job in the Benton Homecoming parade and football game.
*Our Music students did very well at the ILMEA Festival with 4 out of the students that auditioned being selected to continue at the state level: Chris Allendorf, Kaitlyn Bennett, Josie Webb, and Aubree Shelton.
*Parent/Teacher Conferences will be in October 22nd and 24th on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-6:00
*Halloween Parade will be Thursday 31st at 1:00.
*The District would like to thank Adam Allsopp and Tom Harmon for installation of the new electrical for the bus barn.

Pre-K Recognition
Mrs. Ing recognized our Ewing Pre-K for receiving the Gold Circle of Quality Award for our program.
Annual Building Inspection
Mrs. Ing discussed information from our Fire Marshal Inspection. She introduced some of the violations to the school board.
School Report Card
Mrs. Ing presented information she received from ISBE regarding the new School Report Card. It will be released to the public on October 30, 2019 on the website: www. Illinoisreportcard.com.
Into executive session
MOTION by Adam Allsopp to go into executive session to discuss the assignment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity. 5ILCS 120/2 ©(1), as amended by P.A. 93-0057. 2nd by Tom Harmon. 6 ayes (Jake Page, Craig Zinzilieta, Jonathon Edwards, Shannon Webb, Tom Harmon, and Adam Allsopp). In at 7:05 pm.
Regular session
MOTION by Adam Allsopp to come out of executive session and go into regular session: 2nd by Shannon Webb. 6 ayes (Jake Page, Craig Zinzilieta, Shannon Webb, Jonathon Edwards, Tom Harmon, and Adam Allsopp). Out at 7:50 pm.
Other
*A resignation letter was send to the Board of Education and Mrs. Ing from Larry Webb. He is resigning from the Board effective immediately. He feels he cannot give the school and community the dedication and time due to his job responsibilities.
*Thank you to Mrs. Ing, the Board of Education, and the community for hosting the Josh Carlton Fundraiser on Sat. Oct. 19, 2019. It was very appreciated.
*Additional rock is needed at the bus barn area.
