Ewing Township issued the following announcement on March 27.
As the COVID-19 situation changes seemingly hour to hour, or even minute to minute, in our state, we have been working hard to give our members the information, updates and resources they need. At the same time, we are working on our April/May issue of Township Focus, and trying to figure out just how to offer insights and information on this ever-evolving situation. In receiving emails from our members, reading townships’ social media posts and watching media coverage around the state and nation, we have seen the best of public service, and of the inspiration and hope that you are providing your residents and communities. And that is a story that we would like to share!
We would like to showcase our members’ efforts, challenges—and yes, the good that you have seen come out of crisis—as you are dealing with this situation in your own township. Please take just a few moments to share, either in the thread below or by emailing jenn@michigantownships.org, your experiences and insights to the following questions:
• How have your township’s operations (including programs and services) changed in response to the COVID-19 situation?
• What has been your biggest challenge in dealing with this?
• What programs, messages or efforts has your township made to offer guidance, share hope or ensure that residents’, schools’, businesses’, needs and community connection are continuing to be met?
• What advice would you share with your fellow officials, or fellow Michiganders, in this time?
