MARION – Illinois state Rep. Dave Severin recently announced the closure of his Marion office but encouraged constituents with concerns to still reach out by phone.
The office phone number for Severin is 618-440-5090, and his office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Severin said in a recent Facebook video.
Severin’s office can also be reached by email at Severin@ILHouseGOP.org.
“If you have any questions or concerns or you’re not sure who to contact about what question you might have – if it’s physical concerns or you’re concerned as far as a business, or you’re an employee or employer--if you have some needs or concerns, I would sure appreciate you giving us a call,” Severin said.
“We’ll do everything we can to facilitate and help you with getting you answers or directing you in the path that you need to go,” he said.
Severin remarked on how strange it felt for someone as active as he normally is to be conducting all business from home. He advised any constituents who have to leave their homes for necessary reasons to follow social distancing protocols.
“We encourage people to use good common sense,” he said.
Severin also asked his constituents to avoid the temptation to hoard resources such as food and supplies.
“There’s not a shortage of food or items in the state of Illinois,” he said.
He also voiced the awareness he and others in power have of the plight of small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis.
“Those of you who own small businesses, hang in there, do the very best that you can, and those of us that live here in southern Illinois, let’s continue to work with those people that own small businesses,” he said. “Let’s not give up on them now. Let’s do our very best to stick together and work for one another and help each other out.”
Severin also published a list of information and resources on his official legislative website.
