Business

Ewing Township issued the following announcement on April 3.

Small business owners, sole proprietorships and nonprofits in your community can apply for and receive loans to cover their payroll and other certain expenses through the Payment Protection Program (PPP) beginning today, Friday, April 3. MTA is working with the Small Business Association of Michigan to help get the word out to Michigan communities, businesses and nonprofits.

The program is first-come, first-served. A Michigan-specific website is available for additional information, and a sample PPP loan application has been released by the The U.S. Department of the Treasury. Beginning April 10, 2020, independent contractors and self-employed individuals can apply for and receive loans to cover their payroll and other certain expenses through existing Small Business Administration lenders.
