Ewing Township issued the following announcement on April 30.
The state Michigan Department of Natural Resources has ended its month-long suspension of open burning and has begun issuing burn permits. Burn permits in the southern Lower Peninsula are issued by local fire departments and governmental offices, while permits are issued through the DNR in the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula.
