Frankfort Community Unit School District 168 Board issued the following announcement on May 7.

FCHS Students planning on taking John A Classes, here is an important email John A wanted us to pass along to you, I will post the John A forms on the guidance website, go to www.wfschools.org then choose the high school, then students, then guidance!

Hello Frankfort Community High School students! We are trying to get everyone's emails together and send it out, but until then, please read carefully!

We really hoped to be seeing all of you at your high school this spring; going to your schools each semester is one of our favorite things to do! We love meeting with you and talking through your dreams and educational plans. This semester we are working to keep everyone as safe as possible, so we are emailing you instead.

New Students

If we have not had the opportunity to meet you yet, we are Rachel and Jenny, from the Dual Credit Office at John A. Logan College. We are excited to let you know about the different ways you can earn college credit while you are in high school. We attached a list of Frequently Asked Questions for Students to help you and your parents understand the basics of our department and how it works for you. If you have any further questions after reading the FAQ, please email us at dualcredit@jalc.edu, and we will happily answer those questions. The rest of this email explains the registration process for all students. If you are interested in participating in dual credit and/or dual enrollment, keep reading!

Registration Process for Summer and Fall 2020

We want to give you the game plan for registration for summer and fall this year (at least for right now). We have included some important attachments to help you through this process. Please read through them, and email us back accordingly. We also welcome you to schedule a phone consultation to assist you through the process of registration (more on that below). Here are some notes about each of the attachments:

· High School Flyer. These flyers have course recommendations customized for your school and include some of the most popular dual enrollment courses - plus some brand new options! - for you to look through with your parents when deciding which courses to take.

· Dual Enrollment Registration Form – If you know what you are interested in taking, complete this fillable PDF form and email it to dualcredit@jalc.edu. We will register you for the courses you request, send you a bill and some follow up instructions, and send the form to your school for approval.

· Student Information Update Form – ALL students (new and continuing students) need to complete this form, so we can have updated contact information for you and provide the Admissions Office with information they need. You will only complete this form once.

Feeling a little overwhelmed? Send us an email at dualcredit@jalc.edu. We will walk you through it! You can also schedule a phone call with Rachel Sveda-Webb, the Director of Dual Credit. To schedule a phone call registration appointment, fill out the registration form, leave the Course Enrollment chart in the middle of the form blank, and email that to us at dualcredit@jalc.edu. Tell us in the body of your email that you would like a phone call to discuss your registration in more detail.
