Analysis: Benton pays $6.15 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Benton Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86 percent of the $410,464 the Benton Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.15 for every $1 from pension members, according to a North Egypt News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Benton contributed $353,071 to the fund, which saw a $20,356 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $57,392, or 14 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
