Field Community Consolidated School District 3 Board met June 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Members Present: Chris Hayes, Ben Staley, Rodney Mullinax, Johnathan Schauntz, Rob Emery, Mike Coleman, Amanda Wheeler

Members Absent: None

Visitors Present: Robin Shook, Alvy Buchannon, Amber Bagby, Stephanie Landreth, Nadia VanKampen, Amanda Bean, Dee Hicks, Michael Hicks, Darlene Sherman, Roland Mays, Kellie Woodrome (Via Phone)

Chris Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Public Input: Dee Hicks, Robin Shook, Roland Mays, Amanda Bean, Amber Bagby, Alvy Buchanan, and Natalie Van Kampen all spoke in support of the Field School Music Program. A letter from DeAnna Clark supporting the music program was presented to all BOE Members and letters from Shelly Pierce and Afton Buchanon were read in support of the Field School Music program.

Bids for installation of HVAC Units were reviewed and discussed. Coleman made a motion to reject all bids and to seek to rebid the project with a base bid to replace the 4 units in most need of repair, an alternate to replace 4 additional units, and another alternate to replace 8 additional units. Bids should include information on warranties, references from companies, and units should be from the same manufacturer. Wheeler seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Hayes, Staley, Mullinax, Schauntz, Emery, Coleman, Wheeler

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Wheeler made a motion to approve the Triennial Wellness Policy. Staley seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Staley, Mullinax, Schauntz, Emery, Coleman, Wheeler, Hayes

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Staley made a motion to go into closed session at 8:57 PM to discuss personnel. Emery seconded the motion. Motion passed without opposition.

Schauntz made a motion to accept the resignation of Mary Ann Dagg. Emery seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Schauntz, Emery, Coleman, Wheeler, Hayes, Mullinax, Staley

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Staley made a motion to authorize Mr. Stone to advertise and to interview candidates for 2 teacher’s aide and one K-2nd grade teacher. Wheeler seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Emery, Coleman, Wheeler, Hayes, Mullinax, Staley, Schauntz

Voting No: None

Motion Passed

Staley made a motion to have Mrs. Robin Shook be the 6th-8th grade Band, Chorus, and Strings teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Fine arts will be in home rooms for students in K-5th grades. Options for music will be reevaluated each board meeting as the guidance from ISBE and the IDPH are updated. Wheeler seconded the motion.

Voting Yes: Coleman, Wheeler, Hayes, Mullinax, Staley, Schauntz, Emery

Voting No: None

Motion passed

Schnautz made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 PM. Mullinax seconded the motion.

Motion passed without opposition.
