Register NOW for tomorrow's the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy webinar on the Water Utility Assistance residential utility relief program, The program aims to provide direct payment assistance for water and wastewater utilities to ensure vulnerable families have access to water to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The program is a partnership between, EGLE the Executive Office of the Governor, and MDHHS.
Senate Bill 690 appropriated $25 million for MDHHS to reimburse water utility providers for providing bill forgiveness for past due utility bills and fees incurred by residential water customers during the COVID-19 state of emergency. The legislation also provides a 25% credit on total water bills for eligible customers while funding lasts.
This webinar, held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, will include program details, eligibility process, local coordination, timeline, and a discussion on data share agreements.
