Over the last three years the value of recycling commodities have plummeted and based on current economics, Area feels that they cannot continue to provide recycling services. The last pick up date will be August 20th, 2020. There will be one last charge on the water bill in September to cover August recycling charges. Most other trash companies are in the same predicament concerning recycling. The City will consider other recycling options but commits to nothing at this time.
