City of West Frankfort issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
Today with great sadness we reflect on the loss of our Senior Dispatcher, John Hampton Jr. “Little” John has been my co-worker, brother Fire Fighter, communication life line, and dear friend. It’s hard for me to imagine our world without this joyful, calming voice to direct and inform us.
We send our thoughts and prayers to his wife Georgetta, his children, family, and friends. Thank you “Little” John for the countless lives you have touched and your smile and laugh. Rest In Peace my friend.
