Waltonville Fire Protection District responded to 23 calls in 2018 - 15 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Waltonville included 20 fires - 11 structure fires, three vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $71,500 in fire loss - or about $3,575 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Waltonville Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $30,547 in 2017.
