The City of Mt. Vernon is accepting applications for Police Civilian Dispatchers/Telecommunicators. The position is a FULL-TIME position 40 hours per week. Required to work mainly nights, weekends & holidays. $19.35/hour + $0.89/hour Holiday Pay. Good communication skills; clear speaking voice; ability to become certified as a LEADS operator; ability to obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification; ability to work efficiently in emergency situations; and, ability to pass thorough background security check. Residency in Jefferson County, Illinois within 6 months of hire date is required.
