Frankfort Community Unit School District 168 Board issued the following announcement on Apr. 29.
Congratulations on reaching a milestone in your life: Graduation from high school. This is something in which the school, the community, every parent, and each individual can take much pride in. However, there is still more work to be done, and the following schedule and requirements need to be met:
GRADUATION FEES: Fees are $25 for all Seniors. If you are not able to pay for a cap and gown, you may borrow one. Arrangements should be made in the office. You may purchase a tassel for $10 if you borrow. You must return the cap and gown immediately following graduation if you choose to borrow.
All fees must be paid before receiving your cap and gown unit. Seniors may check in the main office for any fees they owe. Cap and gowns will be distributed in the office before school and after school to all seniors who have paid their fees.
BOB GOWER BANQUET: The Bob Gower Banquet will be held virtually. It will be posted on the FCHS website on Thursday, May 6, at 7:00 PM.
LAST DAY OF ATTENDANCE FOR SENIORS: The last day in attendance for Seniors will be Friday, May 21.
GRADUATION PARADE: Plans are being made to hold a Graduation Parade the week of the graduation ceremony. We will have more details in the week ahead.
HONORS NIGHT: Senior Honors Night will be held Tuesday, May 25, at 7:00 PM in Max Morris Gymnasium.
BACCALAUREATE AND SENIOR BANQUET: Plans are being made to hold Baccalaureate and Senior Banquet the week of the graduation ceremony. We will have more details in the week ahead.
GRADUATION PRACTICE: Graduation practice will be held Wednesday, May 26, at 10:00 AM at Johnson Field. Participation is mandatory if you plan on participating in the graduation ceremony.
GRADUATION: The graduation ceremony will be held at Johnson Field on Thursday, May 27, at 8:00 p.m. Graduates should be “in place” no later than 7:30 p.m. A professional photographer will be on site for graduation pictures. DVDs of the graduation ceremony can be ordered at a table setup at graduation. Forms will be available at school prior to graduation, or onsite graduation night.
9. DIPLOMA PICK UP: Seniors are instructed to pick up their diplomas after the ceremony on
stage by the podium. Only the graduate may pick up his/her diploma.
10. Guidelines for Dress: Dress Clothes (Dresses or Dress pants), Solid colored shirt with tie, (ties
will be provided if needed), dress socks, dark shoes, tassel on the left side, no writing or decorations on top of
cap, no sunglasses and no gum.
Inappropriately dressed students will not participate in the Graduation or Baccalaureate ceremony. Any student who needs appropriate graduation attire should see Mrs. Sullivan as soon as possible.
