City of Mason City Council met June 28.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Call to order by Mayor Bruce Lowe at approximately 7:00 P.M.

Council members physically present were Scott Francis, Gerald Mahin, Jim Miller, Danny Mason, Julie Mize, Kevin Snyder. Superintendent Wayne Dixon, Chief Adam Anderson, Treasurer Mike Griffin, and Clerk Michele Whitehead also attended the meeting.

The minutes of the May 10th regular Council meeting were approved.

R21-62 Alderman Mason moved, seconded by Alderman Miller to approve the regular session minutes of the May 24th, 2021 meeting

Ayes: Alderpersons Mize, Snyder, Miller, Francis, Mahin, and Mason

Nays: None

Chairman declared motion carried.

Superintendent Dixon commented that he was getting prices on a few bad trees that are in need of removal, he hopes to have that information for the next meeting.

There was no CSO business to discuss.

There was also no Water Works discussion necessary.

A motion was made to go into executive session at 7:08 P.M. under 5ILCS ( c ) (1) (2 (6) Personnel, Property.

The Executive session adjourned at 7:25 and the regular meeting resumed.

R21-63 Alderman Mason moved, seconded by Alderman Miller to give a merit raise to Ben McCormick.

Ayes: Alderpersons Mize, Snyder, Miller, Francis, Mahin, and Mason

Nays: None

Chairman declared motion carried.

R21-64 Alderman Mason moved, seconded by Alderman Miller to allow Superintendent Dixon to carry over remaining vacation time he has at the end of the year from now until his retirement.

Ayes: Alderpersons Mize, Snyder, Miller, Francis, Mahin, and Mason

Nays: None

Chairman declared motion carried.

R21-65 Alderman Miller moved, seconded by Alderman Snyder to approve the purchase of the property located at 423 N. Mason for delinquent taxes.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:33 p.m
