Community High School District 99 Policy Committee met Sept. 15

The Policy Committee of Community High School District 99 met at the Administrative Service Center. The meeting was called to order at 8:05 a.m.
Present: Board Members Sherell Fuller and Mike Davenport. Also present were Henry Thiele, Superintendent, and Juli Gniadek, Secretary,
There was one visitor. A copy of the Visitor Roster is attached.
1. Review of District Policies
Policy 2.230, Public Participation at School Board Meetings – Dr. Thiele explained the proposed revisions reflect the District's practice and it was recommended by legal that the policy be changed to reflect current practice. He noted the revisions clearly spell out the authority of the Board President.
The Policy Committee discussed the changes to the policy. Policy Committee members shared they had not received any comments or concerns from Board members since the First Reading of the policy. The consensus of the Policy Committee was to bring Policy 2.230 forward to the Board for Second Reading and approval.
Dr. Thiele stated the policy would be on Monday's Board meeting agenda for Second Reading and Action.

Melissa Infusino inquired what prompted the recommended change to the policy.
