Rend Lake College Class of 2022 Volleyball Recruits

Rend Lake College Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 15

The Rend Lake Lady Warriors are capping off one of the most successful season in school history with a recruitment class that is sure to add more depth and hitting power to the roster next season.

Over the past few weeks, Rend Lake has signed on a few top-notch local players. The Class of 2022 recruits include:

• Kinley Milligan, Grayville High School. Milligan provided 424 assists during her senior year. She was named to the Benton All-Tournament Team and the Midland Trail All-Conference First Team. When she was a freshman, she helped lead the Bison to their Final Four appearance in the Class 1A state championship tournament.

• Hailey Edwards, Massac County High School. Edwards completed her senior year as a Patriot with 330 kills and an 89 percent hitting. During her career at Massac County, she was twice selected to the Southern Illinois River-to-River (Ohio) All-Conference team.

• Ella Ruffner, Altamont High School. This past season, the senior Lady Lindian finished with 251 kills, 351 digs, 29 blocks and 35 assists. She was also named a National Trail Conference First Team selection.

• Aumalie Murdock, Woodlawn High School. Murdock finished her high school career with 1,034 career digs, including 420 her senior year. She was 36th in the state in total digs and set her school record for number of digs in a match with 35. She also piled up a total of 1,034 digs throughout her career as a Lady Cardinal. Murdock is also lethal behind the serve line, with a 98 percent accuracy and 22 aces this past season.

Rend Lake finished with its first winning season in 15 years. They were 19-12 overall and 8-6 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.
