Bluford Unit School District #318 Board of Education met Nov. 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Board President Steve Tate called the regular Board of Education meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Upon roll call the following members were present: Angela Schrum, Doug Shafer, Travis Cameron, Jessica Case and Jenny Sneed. Superintendent Dr. Shane Gordon, Nicole Henson, Kim McCormick and Cindy Birkner were present. Chris Holloway arrived at 6:02 and Crystal Marlow at 6:06 p.m.

No visitors to address the board.

Motion: Schrum - 'to approve agenda."

Second: Cameron

Action: Roll Call Vote: Yeas: Schrum, Shafer, Cameron, Case, Sneed, and Tate

MOITON CARRIED.

Motion: Shafer - "to approve the consent agenda."

Second: Sneed

Action:: Roll Call Vote: Yeas: Schrum, Shafer, Cameron, Case, Sneed, Marlow and Tate.

MOTION CARRIED.

Nicole Henson gave principals report on Veteran's Day activities, discipline, trimester grades, High school Fall Fest and booster activities. Dr. Shane Gordon gave financial updates and presented the tentative tax levy, discussed the property tax abatement, school report card, BCAA (Bluford Community Athletic Association) Homeless Grant awarded for $12239.00, construction progress on the track and ball fields, FY21 Audit and TRS SSP, school bus availability were also discussed.

Motion: Cameron - "to go to executive at 7:06 p.m."

Second: Shafer

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas:

MOTION CARRIED.

Motion: Shafer-"to come out of executive at 9:07 p.m."

Second: Cameron

Action: Voice Vote: All Yeas:

MOTION CARRIED.

Motion: Case - "to approve tentative 2021 tax levy."

Second: Schrum

Action: Roll Call Vote: Yeas: Schrum, Shafer, Cameron, Case, Sneed, Marlow and Tate.

MOTION CARRIED.

The board discussed putting a local committee together to plan Covid 19 mitigations. Angela Schrum and Jenny Sneed will represent the board. Board President asked for any other items to be brought in front of board. No comments motion to adjourn

Motion: Case - "to adjourn at 9:10 p.m.
