The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's volleyball team (6-10, 3-7) fell to Thomas More University (4-9, 2-6) in three sets on Thursday, March 3.
After losing the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-22, the Cougars fought until the final point in a third set that did not want to end. The Cougars displayed lots of toughness and grit to try and extend the match, but would ultimately drop the third set 31-29.
Inside the Box Score
Riley Barretto led MVNU in the match with 12 kills. He hit .320 on the night.
Spencer Stanley had nine kills for the Cougars.
Luke Funte made his presence felt as the sophomore had six kills and two blocks. Funte hit a team-high .420 in the match.
Jaysen Matsumoto had a match-high 30 assists and led the team with 12 digs.

MVNU takes on Cardinal Stritch University and No.15 Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky on Saturday, March 5. Match one takes place at 1:00pm, followed by match two at 4:00pm.
