Cairo Unit School District No. One Board of Education met May 4.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

1. Call to Order and Roll Call

2. Public/Private Hearings or Petitions (Individuals May Address the Board at this Time)

3. Approval of Consent Agenda

4. Discussion of Building Committee Report

5. Closed Session

(1) “Consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee(s), specific individuals who serve as independent contractors, or specific volunteers of the a District or legal counsel for the District including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee, a specific individual who serves as an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the District or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity."

(2) Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees

(3) Student disciplinary cases

(4) The placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students

(5) Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the District has been filed before a court or administrative or the District finds that such action is either probable or imminent

6. Requiring Action/Decisions By Board of Education

(1.) Action/Consideration on a resolution authorizing the superintendent to proceed under 1050LCS 5/19b to finalize the scope, cost, and savings associated with a Phase Two Project at Cairo SD #1 pending approval of bonds, savings and legal review.

(2.) Approve the hiring of Cory Allen as 3rd grade teacher at CES.

(3.) Approve the 2022-2023 School Calendar.

(4.) Approve the Resignation of Kiana Sanders as the School Counselor at Cairo Jr. Sr. High.
