City of Mt. Vernon City Council met May 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The Mt. Vernon City Council met for a Special City Council Meeting at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1100 Main Street, Council Chamber Room, 2nd Floor, Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Mayor John Lewis called the meeting to order.

Present: Council Member Ray Botch, Council Member Joe Gliosci, Council Member Donte Moore, Council Member Mike Young, and Mayor John Lewis.

VISITORS/CITIZENS REQUESTS/ADDRESSES FROM THE AUDIENCE

No comments were heard.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

At 4:02 p.m., Mayor John Lewis requested an Executive Session under 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(5) - The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired.

Council Member Donte Moore motioned to go into Executive Session under 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(5) – The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired. Seconded by Council Member Mike Young. Yeas: Botch, Gliosci, Moore, Young, and Lewis.

At 4:10 p.m., Mayor John Lewis reconvened the Special City Council Meeting.

Roll call showed present: Council Member Ray Botch, Council Member Joe Gliosci, Council Member Donte Moore, Council Member Mike Young, and Mayor John Lewis.

ADJOURNMENT

Council Member Joe Gliosci motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Council Member Mike Young. Yeas: Botch, Gliosci, Moore, Young, and Lewis.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:11 p.m.
