Village of Dix Village Board met May 10.

The Dix Village Board met in regular scheduled session at the Dix Village Hall. Village President, Kurt Karcher, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Roll Call:
Trustees Present: Paul Ayers, Whitney Lipps, Tiffany Gentles, Sean Wilkey, Judy Bronson
Trustees Absent:
Officers Present: Village President - Kurt Karcher, Village Treasurer - Sharon Bean, Village Clerk - Brandy Mount
Officers Absent:
A motion was made to approve the minutes from the April 19th, 2022 regular board meeting by Tiffany Gentles. A second to the motion was made by Whitney Lipps.

A motion was made to approve the minutes from the April 26th, 2022 Special Board meeting by Sean Wilkey. A second to the motion was made by Tiffany Gentles.

Treasurer Report: A motion to accept the Treasurer's Report was made by Judy Bronson. A second to motion was made by Tiffany Gentles.

Payment of bills: A motion to approve payment of the bills was made by Sean Wilkey. A second to the motion was made by Judy Bronson.

Building and Grounds Committee:
Tree removed at Village Park gate. Community Building is booked and park rented also several days.
Street and Alley Committee:
Cody patch small potholes, entrance of Eisenhower Dr and along the highway west of the water department. Dead tree removed on S. Marshall St. Bushhog and mowing has been done. Cody will do finish work by Village sign.
Projects approved not started: West St asphalt overlay, culvert breach on Washington St, Meadow Lane drainage,
Police Commission Committee:
Sheriff's office is struggling with staffing issues, medical issues with officers and trying to hire more officers.
Community Organizer Report:
Village wide cleanup was last Saturday. Rummage event upcoming May 14th, 2022
Discussed Spectrum installation coming in roughly 2 months. Asking if someone from Spectrum to come to next months meeting to discuss.
Recognition and Comments from the Public:
Matt lives at 408 W. Washington St. Bought his properties as 4 separate lots, and asking to merge into one lot. Discussed alley that used to run between the lots. Kurt advised to reach out to Round Table design to have them come out and provide him information on survey and plans. Asked about solar panels installation, Kurt advised that Julie would need to come mark the lines for any type of building.

Motion was made by Paul Ayers to draft an Amendment to the Village Board Member Pay Amount be paid monthly regardless of present during monthly village board meeting and to include provisions to withhold pay for vacancy or performance issues. A second to the motion was made by Tiffany Gentles.
