Rep. Dave Severin (R-Marion) got an endorsement from the National Federation of Independent Business as the November general election is coming.
“I’m a small business owner and operator,” Severin wrote on Facebook. “I have a unique perspective on how state law impacts small businesses. We have a lot of work to do to show our small businesses the respect they deserve.”
In a letter to Severin, NFIB wrote:
“Congratulations! The NFIB IL PAC has endorsed your campaign for the 116th Illinois House District. NFIB and our small business members have carefully evaluated the candidates in this race and determined that you clearly demonstrate an understanding of the issues critical to small business in Illinois.”
He has recently shared information with his constituents on the Tourism Attraction and Festivals Grant program.
“Applications are now open for the second round of Illinois’ Tourism Attraction and Festivals Grant program. Information on how to apply can be found at the link below,” Severin said in a Facebook post.
Severin was first elected to the Illinois House in 2017. His legislative experience includes serving on the Judiciary - Criminal, and Mental Health & Addiction committees. Severin resides in Benton.
Severin ran uncontested for the June primary, and will be running uncontested in November's general election.
“Thank you to the thousands of Southern Illinoisans that took the time to cast your vote for me as the new 116th District State Representative in yesterday’s primary," Severin posted on Facebook. "I am honored to serve you in Springfield and look forward to serving the good people of the new 116th District when I am sworn in come January 2023. From Penny and I, once again, Thank You and May God Bless You!” Severin said.
