MVNU FALLS TO BETHEL IN CROSSROADS LEAGUE QUARTERFINALS

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team (27-7, 12-6 CL) was defeated by Bethel University (21-10, 12-6 CL) on Saturday evening, November 5 in Ariel Arena.

The visiting Pilots took the first set by a score of 25-18, but the Lady Cougars clawed back to take the second set by a score of 25-23. Bethel then won the third set by a score of 25-20 before sealing the match with a 25-22 win in the fourth set to move onto the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinals.

Inside the Box Score

Ashley Stumperth led the Lady Cougars in kills with 11. The senior added 10 digs.

Abbey Niemesh had 10 kills and Erica Gasser added nine kills on the night.

Paige Brenner had 37 assists, seven digs, and three kills of her own.

Jaelyn Tang had eight kills, nine digs, and two assists.

Reagan Nuss had six kills, four assists, and a team-high 18 digs.

Molly Galaszewski had 14 digs with a kill and an assist in the loss.

What's Next

The Lady Cougars will now have to wait and see if they will get an at-large bid into the NAIA National Tournament.
