City of Mt. Vernon City Council met Nov. 10.

The Mt. Vernon City Council met for a Special Meeting at 3:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at City Hall, 1100 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

VISITORS/CITIZENS REQUESTS/ADDRESSES FROM THE AUDIENCE

CITY MANAGER

City Manager Mary Ellen Bechtel requested permission to Waive Bidding Procedures to Purchase a 28-Foot Dump Trailer from Mid-Illinois Equipment Sales. The City requires that employees hold a Class A CDL license. A Class A CDL license is required to legally operate a truck and trailer on state highways, which would include State Route 15 and State Route 37 in the City. With the configuration that the City currently has the employees would not be able to pass the driving test to receive their Class A CDL license. This 28-foot dump trailer would enable the employees to take their driving test to obtain their license. Fleet Service Director Mike Shannon stated that there will be many uses for this trailer, including hauling rock and debris.

Council Member Ray Botch motioned to grant permission to Waive Bidding Procedures to Purchase a 28-Foot Dump Trailer from Mid-Illinois Equipment Sales. Seconded by Council Member Donte Moore. Yeas: Botch, Moore, Young, and Lewis. Absent: Gliosci.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
