COUGARS DEFEATED AT NO.7 GRACE COLLEGE

 The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's basketball team (11-12, 4-9 CL) fell on the road by a final score of 64-86 at No.7 Grace College (21-3, 11-3 CL) on Wednesday, February 1.

The Lancers used a big, 55-27 first half to propel them to victory. Grace shot 53% from the field compared to MVNU's 35.3% in the game. MVNU also was outrebounded on the night by a 47-34 margin.

Inside the Box Score

Gichairo Berika had a team high 14 points. Berika had seven rebounds.

Kade Ruegsegger had 12 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Trent Koning was the third Cougar in double-figures with 12 points. Koning had three assists and two rebounds.

Coach Ronai's Thoughts

"Not our night in Indiana. Grace was terrific and played like a top 10 team. We've got to be and get better. It was coaches vs. cancer week in college basketball and we want to continue to send prayers to Hagen Knepp and the Grace Basketball family as he fights cancer."

MVNU takes on Goshen College in Ariel Arena on Saturday, February 4 at 3:00pm.
